We are dealing with a severe drought in the southeast and also a bumper acorn crop that has resulted in slow and limited deer movement. But the rut is underway and the best is yet to come. Here is a young Lee Peak with heavy racked 120 class eight point that went 208 pounds. Congrats.

We have experienced a very good rut and the bucks are still chasing strong. David Robinson from Bolivar, Missouri took this nice seven point this evening right at dark on a food plot.

We are in to the last two weeks of the season and so far the hunting has been great. Lynn Guthrie from Jackson, Miss. took his first buck today when this eight point crossed the field chasing does. A pretty nice first buck indeed!
